'No Time To Die' - 2nd (final?) trailer thoughts

The hype monster has risen from beneath the waves and a new No Time To Die trailer is with us. With that, the release date seems to be confirmed for November, even for Argentina, but with the production of this movie you never know the ways of life. I'll leave you the trailer below, then some thoughts about it.

1- Did they use Sean Callery's version of the "James Bond Theme" from the Everything or Nothing video game? Certainly sounds a lot like that at 0:14, and just as Primo's goons abseil down through a building, which also brings back memories to the many rappel missions of the game. That cue was followed by something that resembled John Barry's "Bond Below Disco Volante" from Thunderball. Quite cool!

2- Léa Seydoux looks really beautiful, much sexier than in SPECTRE. She's a beautiful girl, but I felt Sam Mendes didn't exploit her good looks last time we saw her.

3- Aesthetically, the movie's gorgeous. Sets are huge (or, better said, they look huge on camera, that's what matters) and cinematography is sharp and colorful. Really looking forward to it.

4- It appears the entertainment value will be huge. Loads of action scenes, I'm particularly looking forward to the forest bits. At one point Bond sets a wire-booby trap for a bike-riding enemy, which reminds me to anecdotes my grandfather told me about WWII, how they splitted Nazis in two. Of course, under PG-13 rating, that won't be so graphic here. I've missed action packed Bond films, we have to hope that Cary Fukunaga can handle the film's pacing well.

5- The scenes in Cuba look really good. Ana De Armas looks sweet. And beautiful as well.

6- On the downside, I hope M, Q and Moneypenny don't occupy too much screen time. And the "bloody shot" reference again is a bit thin. Not too fond of Nomi either. It's always nice to hear some classic Fleming quotes on the big screen, but why the line about villains and heroes mixed up yet again? Mathis said it on Quantum of Solace. Something happens twice, feels like a farse.

7- We don't know very much about the plot, but I'm happy that Bond is on a "saving the world" mission once again. And I definitively see Safin as a new Stromberg or Drax, certainly not that classic villain people insist he is.

That's all for now. Let's see if there's a third trailer. If they follow the pattern of SPECTRE there could be a short third one by late October. But the two we had were already pretty long. By the way, I'll update A View To A Thrill: A Closer Look At The James Bond Trailers once the film is out, with this trailer reviewed and compared to the final result.
